Greetings fellow townmates and welcome to the Annak Ti Santa Reunion website!
Let's Hear From You
Please feel free to leave your comments, suggestions, or just let us know you came by! We'd love to hear from you!
Dear Manang Star, Bernadette,Mildred, Ligaya. Boy and Maribel,
There's very little anyone can say or do to ease the loss of of someone who meant so very much to you. Nana Pacing had a great and meaningful journey in this earth and she is back at peace with her Creator .May you find some comfort and courage knowing you have family and friends wishing and praying for you. I broke the news to Nanay and she feels saddened. They are Kumadres and your parents and mine were always close friends from back home.I'm glad I had a chance to have a picture with her in Hawaii. Take care.

Dear Annak ti Santa,
This is a follow-up on our "....Annak ti Santa, International, (or whatever we shall decide to call ourselves)....".
I suggest that we start by dividing the globe into ZONES based on geography and population - e.g. Europe (1), Canada(1), Hawaii(1-2),mainland USA(4-6), Japan and the Far East(1), Middle East(1), Australia/New Guinea(1), Philippines(2).
Each zone forms a CHAPTER with the usual set of officers.
The chapter PRESIDENTS automatically become members of the BOARD of DIRECTORS of the international organization. They ELECT FROM AMONG THEMSELVES the ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS.
The chapter VICE-PRESIDENTS automatically become members of the COMMITTEE to formulate the CONSTITUTION and BY-LAWS, and later amend it as needed.
It might take years till all the zones have organized. But some (Southern California, for one, right?) have been quite active.
This is a very ambitious project, but necessary, to prevent an "instant" global organization with a meager following, that is neither representative nor sensitive to the intellectual, moral and emotional needs of the average Anak ti Santa.
This way, we have a coherent organization with mature, responsible and committed membership.
By the way, I am not even sure that there are enough Annak ti Santa in my part of the world to form a chapter. So, most probably, our role here will be advisory.

Dear Kailians ti Santa,
It is so nice reading all your comments, thoughts and love and wishes to one another. Reading the Ilocano greetings make me feel homesick, if only I could go home now. I do miss our town, the climate - especially when it is cold, dull, dark winter in Europe. I couldn't wait for the reunion in 2011. When Manang Rexit called me over the phone, a few months ago, speaking Ilocano, I am missing our kailians and our town; the town fiesta, the beautiful beaches, ipon, tange, etc.
I am so grateful you let me join your re-union, considering marig-rigat laeng to biag mi - but through hardships and strong determination, we were able to attain where we are now.
Thank you everyone and good luck, looking forward to see you all in Manila in 2011. Zeny Villanueva-Sharpe

" . . . . If I remember right, it was an assertion: "Nandy, the next reunion will be in the Phil." Nandy was all ears, brain and heart. In his "Wen, Manang", were commitment, conviction and happiness. (I didn't imagine it, did I, Nandy?) . . . .
No Manang Rexit, you didn't imagine it. I can't wait for 2011.
And here's an additional incentive for our fellow Annak Ti Santa to come home at that time: the Pope will be here, to bless the 400th founding anniversary of UST which will be right after our Homecoming.
The Vatican has not announced it yet and in fact we won't be expecting an announcement soon, but a significant anniversary like the 400th year of the only (in Asia, if I remember correctly, right Dr. Tonying? Vangie, Gerry and Eva? - the latter three - my younger sisters and brother, all semper fi UST alumni) and oldest Pontifical University will surely have a first priority mark in Pope Benedict's calendar.

Dear Jun and Rudy,
These rotten apples, if they do exist, are exceptions. They should not deter us from forming "Annak ti Santa, International" (if Chit Manglinong, who thought of it, will let us use the name; I find "Annak ti Santa" quite classy.), or whatever we will decide to call ourselves.

I applaud your idea kailian. Nagsayaat ket koman no adda timpuyog tayo. But with what I'm hearing that would be a big challenge. Like apples in a basket there are rotten ones whose intention is to create division and faction, motivated by their own personal hidden agenda. It's a shame.

I think it would be best if we could form Worldwide Santanians. Ove in Manila, there used to be an association to which I was once an officer, the Timpuyog dagiti Taga-Santa, Inc.
Many Santanians are renowned internationally. They can surely help in this idea. One of them is Dr. Agustin B. Molina Jr. (Manueva, Santa) but who is now based in France as the Regional Coordinator for Asia and Pacific of the Bioversity International formerly the International Network for the Improvement of Banana and Plantain. Let the torch of Santa keep glowing!

That sentence in my message should have been: "....whose reasons for not attending a reunion in the Phil. would be other THAN not wanting to go home."

Dear ANNAK TI SANTA,
When my daughter, ReneƩ, and I visited my Manong Roland last year in January, he promised to take his medicines regularly and do what his doctors say - because he wanted to live long enough to see his other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he hadn't seen for ages. It was then that I suggested holding the next Annak ti Santa affair in the Philippines to Nandy (who else?).
If I remember right, it was an assertion: "Nandy, the next reunion will be in the Phil." Nandy was all ears, brain and heart. In his "Wen, Manang", were commitment, conviction and happiness. (I didn't imagine it, did I, Nandy?)
We knew that we were speaking for all Annak ti Santa in the Phil.- most of whom would want to attend a reunion, but couldn't if held abroad.
And we knew that we were speaking for most of the Annak ti Santa abroad whose reasons for not attending a reunion in the Philippines would be other that not wanting to go home.
THANK YOU, EVERYONE - especially you, my dearest friend, Mildred.
Sincerely,
Rexit

Our deep sympathy to the whole fmy. We really feel sad of hearing
the lost of Nana Pacing. I recall the ever smiling Nana when-
ever you see her in their store or wherever you met her. She was a
very kind and a generous kumadre to my mother Elvie, my mom was
happy to drop by their store whenever she needs grocery coming
from her work. We'll always remember her as one of the best
acquaintance of my mom.
May her soul rest in peace and for the
whole family, we include you all in our prayers!
Always,
Nana Elvie, Dr. Abe,Nancy and fmy.
